Velez v. Concordia University Chicago

Krislov Law represents graduate students in Concordia University Chicago's School Counseling, M.A. program who were harmed when the school uniliaterally dropped its accreditation for the program with the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) in the matter Velez v. Concordia University Chicago, No. 2013 CH 11308 (Cir. Ct. Cook County, Ill. Chancery Div.).
As a result of dropping the CACREP accreditation, students who graduated from the program not only lost the prestige of that accreditation, but are now unable to take the Illinois Licensed Professional Counselor examination without additional coursework.  Despite the complete dismissal of an identical, concurrent case brought in the Law Division by a different firm, our firm defeated two motions to dismiss, allowing the case to proceed on the grounds of breach of contract and consumer fraud.
