2001 Legal Eagle award to Clint Krislov
IVI-IPO, the only multi-issue,
statewide independent political organization in Illinois, has
led the progressive good government movement in Illinois for
over 50 years. Through its National Affairs, Legislative
Action and Community Action committees, IVI-IPO drafts
legislative proposals and lobbies for passage of progressive
legislation in Congress, the Illinois General Assembly, the
Chicago City Council, and other governmental bodies. IVI-IPO's
positions on issues are the basis of the annual Best
Legislative and best Aldermanic Voting Record Awards.
Legal Eagle Award:
The Legal Eagle Award is presented to a lawyer or an
organization of lawyers that has made a particularly
significant contribution to opening the political or
governmental process or worked to the benefit of the general
public.

On June 9, 2001, the
Independent Voters of Illinois-Independent Precinct
Organization awarded its prestigious "Legal Eagle"
award to public interest and consumer attorney Clint Krislov,
"For his successful efforts to increase ballot access for
independent and
third party
candidates in Illinois; for his defense of pension rights for
public and private sector employees and his pursuit of
corruption and mismanagement in government; And for his
enthusiastic advocacy of consumer rights, securing justice and
compensation for victims of securities fraud, utility over
charges and infinite corporate greed, the Independent voters
of Illinois-Independent Precinct Organization
presents the 2001 Legal Eagle Award
to Clint Krislov"
